y’all saying BLM for one situation just don’t sit right with me, it goes beyond police brutality!!! it’s Black women dying at a higher rate during childbirth. it’s Black people being exposed to COVID-19 at a higher rate. it’s Black people being forced into low income communities. it's Black people being denied job opportunities due to the name on their applications. it's Black people being denied into higher institutions despite having the same qualifications as their non-Black counterparts. it's Black people having their creations and ideas stolen without being given credit simply because a good percentage of society still believes in 2020 that Black people are not creative enough or smart enough or skilled enough. it's decreasing the federal funding for schools in predominantly black neighborhoods due to gerrymandering. it's the kidnapping and murders of black men, women, and children that don't make it on the news. this isn't just about police brutality. this is deeper than that.

trans people should not have to sacrifice their comfort to appeal to cis people

i should not have to tuck for a cis person’s comfort, especially not to the point of possibly damaging my genitals. why are you staring at a teenager’s crotch anyways?

transmasc people should not have to bind for hours to the point of being unable to breath and damaging their ribs so that cis people can be comfortable. EDIT: transmasc people shouldn’t have to bind period if they don’t want to.

transfeminine people should not have to wear fake breasts that can damage their back just for the comfort of cis people.

trans people should not have to go through pain to make cis people comfortable. this should be incredibly obvious. cis people can rb but dont be a fucking clown.

adora is a special main character because she’s not all dramatic and heroic. she’s clumsy, anxious, easily overwhelmed, awkward, and kind of oblivious at times. she makes really dumb mistakes- (licking sand, jumping in to quicksand to save your friend who can teleport???) and is simply... flawed in a very specific way i haven’t seen before

just wanna clarify that when I say "abolish the police" and "defund the police" I do, in fact, mean that we should rid ourselves entirely of cops

because I've seen a lot of white people using these phrases and then walking it back like "give them less responsibilities and less funding!"

but the truth is that our policing system is intrinsically linked to racism, colonialism, and xenophobia. that won't go away if we give them less money or less things to enforce

so yes, I mean it when I say we should abolish the police

Shout-out to LGBTQ+ people who fit stereotypes! To butch lesbians, flamboyant gay men, feminine trans men, masculine trans women, young and hair-dyed nonbinary people, polyamorous and sexually fluid bi and pansexuals! To young and awkward aros/aces! To visibly intersex people! To people who do feel special and different because of their identities sometimes. To the people who's identities did or do change over time, in phases.

There's something so radical and beautiful in being who you are when the world wasn't built for you. You are incredible. You are loved. You are valuable.

It can be incredibly painful to fit the stereotypes people use to dehumanize you, to look at derogatory caricatures and sometimes see yourself. We don't talk about that much, but it's hard and that's real. But you are so wonderful and worth so much.

ok listen to this conspiracy theory so basically *blatant antisemitism*

being a lesbian is like 🥰💖🌸😍💗🌷💐😘✨

I theorize that queer people might love the italicized “oh” moment in romance novels and fanfics because we experienced it in real life, when we realized we were queer. We’ve had that moment where all the pieces clicked together and suddenly everything makes sense. We’ve stood dumbfounded as a ton of little things suddenly stand out blazing in hindsight. We’ve realized how obvious it’s been, all this time, and suddenly everything seems different and terrifying and wonderful. We’ve had that seismic shift, learning something that can never ever ever be unlearned. And genuinely, the only thing you can really say is oh.

It’s part of our love language. I will use it in every fanfic I write until I die.

Do you support gender non-conforming men when they don't exist for your entertainment? When it isn't the shock-and-awe, punk "irony" of smeared lipstick and a beard, or the polished showmanship of drag? Do you support the GNC men whose femininity isn't a joke? Or do you feel on some level that men are only entitled to femininity if it's strictly a performance? Do you still expect feminine men to uphold traditional masculinity to be respected? Are you only allowing these men to exist as caricatures?

Do you support gender non-conforming women when they don't appeal to your aesthetics? When it isn't meticulously tailored suits and expensive haircuts? Do you support the GNC women who can't afford or don't want to be "dapper" or fashionable? Or do you feel on some level that women are only entitled to masculinity so long as they're still "making an effort"? Do you still expect masculine women to uphold traditional femininity to be respected? Do you still think women exist to be looked at?

Are you genuinely unlearning sexist rhetoric and dismantling gender expectations, or are you just enforcing it in ways you're unable to recognize because you've tricked yourself into thinking your community is too woke and clever to fall victim to it?

did y’all see the guidelines for homeless shelters turning away trans people (specifically trans women)? every line of it is so awful. if you can, PLEASE donate towards homeless trans women today. these shelters are not safe for them.
